What We Offer

Hope & Anchor is all about writers helping writers. We will do this both in person and online.  In 2025, we are running creative writing workshops in London, Kent and Dorset, focusing on writing techniques, inspiring prompts and practical advice.

In 2026, we will offer more day-long workshops in different locations, alongside online sessions on a variety of subjects so you can join us from anywhere in the world.  We have exciting plans for longer writing retreats and other activities in the future. The best way to find out what we are up to is to sign up to our newsletter or check back here regularly.

Testimonials:

"I found the writing retreat to be well-led and structured. For a beginner like me it struck a good balance between literary insight, practical exercises, and tools that I will definitively incorporate into my writing routine. The group setting created an intimate, supportive atmosphere that encouraged open sharing and an opportunity to learn how to both give and receive constructive feedback. A real gem of a course, inspiring, practical, fun and deeply enriching." - Ana

"All three women are extremely knowledgeable and were fantastic hosts - a special mention to Peggy’s ridiculously addictive brownies - but the main reason to go is the well-thought out exercises, the invaluable feedback, and the camaraderie with the other attendees. As someone who’s been writing for a while, I definitely went away more confident, motivated and inspired. I believe it would be useful for new and aspiring writers too." – Jason

"I had an excellent time at the event in London. As an amateur writer of short stories and in the process of my first novel, the day gave me useful strategies and creative exercises to improve my current work and develop future pieces. The tutors gave constructive advice on how to overcome hurdles, such as crises of confidence. They created a friendly atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable to share.  I’d recommend this course to writers of all levels." — Jacqueline
